The Secret of "Eternal Youth" is kept on Okinawa...

Investigations showed that the vast majority of the people who live on the Japanese island of Okinawa become much older than people in the rest of the world. It turned out that the inhabitants of Okinawa have an extremely good mental and physical condition, even in their nineties. Also, there are remarkably many people who reach the age of 100. The secret seems to be a combination of a healthy lifestyle with a well-balanced diet, a relaxed attitude and positive mindset and, last but not least, preventing the limbs and muscles from getting stiff and rusty, by exercising on a daily basis.

It's a fact that the number of heart diseases, depressions, burn-outs and certain types of cancer hardly exist on this island, while in our western part of the world their numbers are increasing rapidly.

People elsewhere in Japan are also keen on staying healthy and in shape, and healthy eating habits are essential for them. They follow the guideline to consume 15 different nutrients per day. Tests revealed that people from the Japanese mainland have 50 times as much as flavonoids in their blood as Europeans do. And, on top of that, the people on Okinawa appeared to have even twice as much flavonoids in their blood as the mainland group! These developments are thought to be one of the main reasons for the relatively low number of serious diseases like hormone-related cancers. (prostate, breast).

Given these remarkable facts, we think it's high time to pay attention to the Okinawa lifestyle in "our" western part of the world, and dive a little deeper into the matters.
